The unplugged Project

A monthly, analog and collective photographic practice.
No screens. No urgency. No promised outcome.

One disposable camera per month.

12 months. 27 exposures per month.
A shared rhythm.

FOR WHO

This project is for you, photographer, because you like to take photos. Because you feel the rush to snap an image of whatever is happening around you and make it yours. And because you want to slow down and forget about the immediacy of digital and phone photography.

We needed a break from perfection, we needed some space to breathe from technicalities and we found it in a disposable camera.

Are you curious about analog processes,
or tired of constant digital feedback? This is for you!

You don’t need a concept. You don’t need a goal. You don’t need an algorithm approval. Only attention and willingness to stay for 12 months.

the origin

During our photographic roadtrip in search of La Frontera Del Viento in October 2025, something shifted.

Disposable cameras were given to our photographers, simple, unambitious, plastic made. We found something different in the photos, not only in the images themselves, but also in the process that led to them. These plastic beauties seemed to have deactivated something: over-planning, constant correction, the need to control the result.

Within those 27 frames, another way of being with the camera emerged, and we liked that.
More attention than precision. Closer to gesture than to decision. It was fun and free.

A kind of photography that does not rush ahead of itself.

we are a group of people with disposable analog cameras in our pockets enjoying the act of taking photos, the image ARRIVES later. The joint portfolio and zoom meeting ARRIVE later too.

WhAT THIS PROJECT IS

Continuity over urgency, 12 months

This is a space for continuity. For stepping away from hyper-digital connection. Letting go of what we’re supposed to do, to make space for what we want to do. A quiet resistance to immediate satisfaction. Because we want to build something over time. What will your year look like in 12 rolls of film? What will you look like? (Yes, we ask for one selfie month.)

A solitary practice, together

We go out to take photos on our own, but we’re part of a group. We have spaces to share. A private IG group. Zoom meetings every three months. A joint monthly portfolio curated by Doublepage. Lucia and Roberto will open the conversation, but we, as a group, will make the space grow. Let’s do this together.

A timeframe creates momentum

One month to photograph.
15 days to develop, scan, and send. A time limit is a powerful narrative tool.
What can we tell in 27 frames shot in a month? Add a little pressure. Finish the roll on time. Make every frame count.

Travel without displacement

Photography as a transportation method. As note-taking. As walking. As attention. We don’t need to go somewhere far away to photograph. Let’s keep our inner traveller awake one roll (camera) at a time. Like William Eggleston said “photography keeps me out of the house” .

How it works

You shoot during the month, freely, from wherever you are.

By the 15th of the following month, you send the scans of your developed film to:
editors@wearedoublepage.com (via WeTransfer)

Each month, Doublepage edits a collective portfolio with all participants’ images.

Every three months, we open moments of conversation:
image readings, shared reflections and feedback.

24/7 open private Instagram group for everyone to post, write, comment.
