RTE. #003

Japan, 2026 9th-17th March
A photographic journey through the essence of Japan.

This is not just a trip, it’s an invitation to look deeper. To move slowly through Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto and a surprise destination, guided by intuition and the camera in your hand. Japan isn’t something to capture entirely: it’s something to feel, layer by layer.

We’ll explore rituals, architecture, craftsmanship and stillness. Not to document, but to be present. To get lost — and maybe, in doing so, find something true.

  • Because it unsettles you in the best possible way. Because its beauty is quiet, precise, and profound, found not in the obvious, but in the gesture, the shadow, the pause. Japan invites you to pay attention, to move slower, to see deeper. It’s not a place to conquer, but to listen to. For us, it’s the perfect setting to explore photography as presence — and presence as a way of seeing.

  • A carefully crafted itinerary designed for photographers and storytellers

    • A journey rooted in curiosity, slowness, and photographic presence.

OPEN INVITATION

Hi, Lucia here!

A few weeks ago, I set foot in Japan for the first time. I arrived with a mix of curiosity, reverence, and hunger. And I returned completely unmoored, as one should. But one thing became crystal clear: I need to return. And this time, I want to do it in company.

This invitation is open, yet it is not for everyone. It is for the few who understand that to photograph is to be fully present. For those who believe that a journey begins with a question, not a checklist. For those unafraid to get lost in the unfamiliar, to be moved by silence, or transformed by light.

Together, we will walk through Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, and a final surprise destination. We will explore the architecture of ideas, the poetry of daily life, and the invisible threads that hold culture together. We'll be guided by artists, welcomed into ateliers, and invited to see Japan not just as visitors, but as observers, learners, and storytellers.

This is not a photo tour. This is a photographic journey and an inner one, too.

TRAVEL. MOVE. GET LOST.

This journey is for photographers, storytellers, and visual artists seeking inspiration beyond the obvious, for travelers who believe in the power of getting lost and finding something unexpected, and for anyone craving a transformative experience—through Japan, through photography, through self-discovery. Limited spots available. Secure your place now and be part of a journey that will redefine the way you see Japan—and the way you see the world.

Meet the Team

Curious photographer and designer, I love artichokes and am living in Cologne. My life revolves around creativity and image creation: as a photographer, enthusiastically sharing my knowledge with other photographers as an educator, and working as a designer and photo project editor and curator at Doublepage. Travel, both as a vital theme and in my photography, has led me to create Roadtrip, ETC.
