La Frontera del Viento,
October 2–6, 2025 | From Madrid to the Basque Country and beyond

There are trips you plan with maps, guides, GPS. And then there are others you take with your gut, with your gaze, with that instinct that tells you to stop just when the light bends over a rusted guardrail or a crumbling house, that instinct that steals your breath and demands you take a photo. This trip, clearly, belongs to the latter.

  • La Frontera del Viento is a roadtrip for those who crave the unexpected, a journey that sharpens your instincts, invites you to slow down, and rewards your curiosity at every turn.
It’s a tribute to the photographers, the dreamers, and the travelers who understand that magic lives in the unplanned stops, in the quiet light, in the faces you meet when you least expect it.

If your camera feels like an extension of your eyes, if you long to explore roads that cross stories rather than cities, this journey is waiting for you.

OPEN INVITATION

Hi, Lucia here!

Some journeys are made with maps, others with instinct. La Frontera del Viento belongs to the second kind.

From October 2nd to 6th, we set off from Madrid without hurry but with great attention. Five days and four nights to explore landscapes you won’t find on postcards but that will stay etched in your memory forever. We will cross Navarra’s starlit nights, the endless forests and beaches of Les Landes, the quiet elegance of San Sebastián, and the timeless fields of Burgos.

The roads we travel are not the fastest, they cross stories. This is not a workshop. It’s a journey of slow roads, unexpected encounters, and photography as a way of being present. A tribute to the spirit of classic roadtrips, to Robert Frank, Walker Evans, Alec Soth, and Wim Wenders. A journey where there are no final destinations, only places where we stop.

No scripts. Only paths. And wind.

TRAVEL. MOVE. GET LOST.

We will travel in two cars, always ready to pull over whenever the light calls. Each day brings a new territory: rural villages, endless dunes, lonely gas stations, hidden trails.

Our accommodations are handpicked. Places with soul, design, and the kind of light that makes you want to stay forever. We’ll move slowly, favoring conversations, textures, and unexpected stops over fixed plans. Photography will be our language, curiosity our guide. Every night, we’ll gather to review the day’s work, sharing visions and shaping the story we’re creating together.

What’s includeD?

We’ll stay in boutique hotels and guesthouses full of soul, carefully chosen for their light, design, history, and their ability to offer true rest and inspiration along the way.

Meet the Team

Curious photographer and designer, I love artichokes and am living in Cologne. My life revolves around creativity and image creation: as a photographer, enthusiastically sharing my knowledge with other photographers as an educator, and working as a designer and photo project editor and curator at Doublepage. Travel, both as a vital theme and in my photography, has led me to create Roadtrip, ETC.
